Tony is President and CEO of Global Edge Investments (GEI), a vertically integrated hospitality and management based investment company he founded in 1998. GEI’s investments and managed portfolio range from hotels and restaurants to online hospitality companies.

Two of Global Edge Investments most noted hotel developments/investments are: the Thompson Toronto Hotel as well as Hotel Le Germain Toronto, both award winning hotels. Tony helped guide the Thompson to a 2017 sale that saw investors getting a minimum 3X return on capital as well as achieving the 3rd highest per key price in the history of hotel transactions in Canada. Le Germain was the first boutique hotel of its kind in Toronto and GEI divested its interest (in 2014) and achieved a 14 year 16% IRR on the investment.

Global Edge Investments is also a partner in Crescent Hotels & Resorts, a top 4 North American independent hotel management company operating over 100 hotels across the continent. Global Edge Investments took an active role in the launch and growth of Wahanda.com, a Spa & Wellness resource guide, booking engine, and online community based in London, England. The company was sold in 2015 realizing a 15X ROI. GEI also has investments in tech start-ups such as Homigo, SeamlessMD, Fuel Transfer Technologies (FTT), Zoom & Go and Zonetail.

Tony attended the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA and honed his skills by opening over 45 restaurants for Prime Restaurants while implementing management and training programs, as well as working in various hospitality positions. His continued success in the hospitality business stems from a long-held passion for customer satisfaction and drive to provide the best service.

Tony currently serves on the boards of Mount Sinai Foundation, Birthright Israel Canada, the Design Exchange and was formerly on the board of trustees for the Ontario Science Centre and he is the past Chair of the board of Kolel: the Adult Centre for Jewish Learning. In 1998, in partnership with his wife, he created the Tora Foundation whose focus is strengthening Jewish identity, Canadian based initiatives and values and education. Tora is or has been involved in organizations and programs such as Birthright Israel, Mount Sinai, Tennis Canada, the Bell Lightbox, the Ontario Science Centre, AIDA (Association of Israeli Decorative Artists), to name a few.

Tony is the 2012 recipient of the Ontario Hostelry Institute Gold Award for Hotelier of the Year
